What if the next step in neurodiversity support were not another isolated intervention - but a better way for everyone around a child to understand what is happening together?
The HIM-N™ Colombia Pilot is an international educational and applied-research initiative designed to bring the Human Integration Method™ into the real environments where neurodivergent children learn, communicate, regulate, connect and grow.
Beginning in Barranquilla, Colombia, the pilot brings together families, educators, RBTs, behavioral and mental-health professionals, researchers and communities around one shared purpose: to help every child be understood as a whole human being.
This project is not designed to replace the work already being done. It is designed to help that work connect.

Instead of beginning only with “How do we stop this behavior?”, an educator can also ask: “What is happening right now that is affecting this student’s ability to participate, learn, communicate or respond?”

Complementing ABA Not Competing With It
HIM-N™ is being developed as a complementary integrative framework, not as a replacement for ABA or other established disciplines. Behavioral practice can provide powerful tools for observing behavior, identifying functional relationships, teaching skills and measuring change.
HIM-N™ adds a broader functional question: what else is happening within the human system while this behavior is occurring? This may include regulation, emotional experience, sensory and bodily information, relationships, environmental demand, identity and access to existing capacity.

Barranquilla can become a real-world environment for exploring how teachers, RBTs, families and professionals develop a shared functional language while maintaining distinct professional roles.
Questions before claims
These are research questions not outcomes claimed before evidence is collected. That distinction strengthens the scientific credibility of the pilot.
01. Can teachers identify changes in functional availability earlier?
02. Can that information help educators adjust instruction or environmental demand without lowering expectations?
03. Can RBTs and educators communicate more effectively about what they observe?
04. Can families experience greater continuity between home, school and behavioral services?
05. Can students spend less time being interpreted through isolated behaviors and more time being supported toward meaningful participation?
06. Can a functional-coherence perspective help schools understand how a child learns, not simply whether a child complies?
